Care & Maintenance

• Before Installation: Gently detangle from the ends upward using an extension-safe brush or wide-tooth comb. Follow your stylist's recommendations before installation.
• Washing: Use lukewarm water with sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner. Avoid aggressive rubbing, twisting, or scrubbing that can disturb the texture.
• Preserving the Texture: Gently scrunch the hair after washing and allow it to air-dry whenever possible. Avoid brushing textured hair aggressively while dry, as this can loosen the curl or wave pattern and create frizz.
• Detangling: Work gently from the ends upward. For curlier textures, a wide-tooth comb or your fingers can help preserve definition.
• Heat Styling: Always use heat protectant and keep styling tools below 350°F / 180°C. Frequent straightening or high heat may gradually alter the original wave or curl pattern.
• Sleeping: Put the hair into a loose braid or other protective style and sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase or wear a bonnet to reduce friction and tangling.
• Swimming & Sun: Rinse promptly after exposure to chlorine or saltwater. Extended sun, chlorine, saltwater, and mineral-heavy water may affect both the color and texture.
• Professional Maintenance: Genius Wefts can be beaded or sewn in, and are generally moved up every 6–8 weeks, depending on natural hair growth.
• Coloring: The hair can be toned or colored darker or with brighter colors. Never bleach the extensions, as bleaching can damage the hair and shorten its lifespan.

How many packs do I need?

Each pack is one weft: 50g in 18" (2 packs = 100g, 3 packs = 150g) and 60g in 22" (2 packs = 120g, 3 packs = 180g). Generally about 2–3 packs, depending on your natural hair density, the thickness of your ends, your haircut, and your desired fullness and length. Send us photos and we'll recommend an amount.

How much does a full set cost?

2 packs start at $338 (18") or $538 (22"). 3 packs start at $507 or $807. These totals are for the extension hair only and do not include professional installation.

Can I straighten it?

Yes. The wave or curl returns after washing.
