Care & Maintenance

• Before Installation: Gently detangle from the ends upward using an extension-safe brush, wide-tooth comb, or your fingers. Professional installation is recommended.
• Washing: Use lukewarm water and sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner. Apply conditioner primarily through the mid-lengths and ends and avoid applying conditioner or oils directly to the keratin bonds.
• Preserving the Texture: Gently scrunch the hair after washing and allow it to air-dry whenever possible. Avoid aggressively brushing textured hair while dry, as this can loosen the wave or curl pattern and create frizz.
• Detangling: Work gently from the ends upward while supporting the hair near the bonds. A wide-tooth comb or fingers can help maintain definition on curlier textures.
• Heat Styling: Always use a heat protectant and keep styling tools below 350°F / 180°C. Keep direct heat away from the keratin bonds. Frequent straightening or high heat may gradually alter the original wave or curl pattern.
• Sleeping: Secure the hair in a loose braid or other protective style before sleeping. A silk or satin pillowcase or bonnet can help reduce friction, tangling, and frizz.
• Swimming & Sun: Rinse the hair promptly after exposure to chlorine or saltwater. Extended exposure to sun, chlorine, saltwater, and mineral-heavy water can affect both the color and texture.
• Professional Maintenance: A K-Tip installation is designed to stay in for about 3–5 months. After removal, the extension hair can be re-tipped with new keratin and reused.
• Coloring: The hair can be toned or colored darker or with brighter colors. Never bleach the extensions, as bleaching can damage the hair and shorten its lifespan.
